SynapCores v2.4.3-ce: concurrency under foreign keys, fixed

Published on October 31, 2026

SynapCores Community Edition v2.4.3-ce

Community Edition · free · seamless upgrade from v2.4.x

If your schema scopes everything to a shared parent — every table REFERENCES tenants(id), say — concurrent writes used to collide on that parent. No data was ever at risk; what you got instead was spurious write-conflict/retry churn and 409s the moment two requests touched rows under the same parent. A voice-agent workload replaying real call-contention made it impossible to miss. v2.4.3-ce removes it. If you load-tested foreign-key-heavy writes before and saw throughput collapse under contention, re-run that test — the behavior you expected is now the behavior you get.

FK writes validate by row, not by table

A child insert or update now checks the one parent row it actually references, instead of guarding the whole parent-connected set of tables. Two writes under the same parent stop falsely conflicting. In our contention matrix — the one that used to storm — conflicts dropped to zero on every cell, with zero regressions across the full feature suite and equal-or-faster SQL-plane throughput. This was a pre-existing engine behavior (present in v2.4.2-ce and earlier, not introduced by v2.4.2), so the upgrade is a straight win for any concurrent, foreign-key-heavy workload.

Composite foreign keys match by column set

FOREIGN KEY (a, b) REFERENCES t(x, y) now resolves against a composite PRIMARY KEY or UNIQUE constraint regardless of the column order in the reference. Migrations that previously failed on a column-order mismatch now apply cleanly.

CREATE TRIGGER IF NOT EXISTS

Trigger creation is now idempotent: CREATE TRIGGER IF NOT EXISTS name ... succeeds on a first run and is a no-op on a second, so a migration that runs twice no longer errors on the second pass.

Should you upgrade?

Yes, if you run concurrent writes against tables with foreign keys. Single-threaded or FK-free workloads are unaffected. The fix is fully backward-compatible — no schema change, no migration, no on-disk format change.
